Gravholt is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 20 years of experience in non-profit financial management. In this new role, Gravholt will oversee Federation’s administrative, financial, and essential business functions and lead the development of scalable systems and processes across the organization. Guiding a team of talented professionals and in partnership with lay leadership, Gravholt will focus on evaluating, refining, and strengthening Federation’s current and future operations to move the organization forward.
“I have always been drawn to serving as a catalyst between non-profits and donors, and passionate about applying my skills to mission-driven work. I firmly believe that an organization’s ability to achieve its mission and goals stems from strategic, thoughtful, and visionary business operations,” shared Gravholt. “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead these efforts for Federation and the Greater Washington Jewish community.”
A resident of Northern Virginia, Gravholt began her career at Clifton Gunderson (now CliftonLarsonAllen) as an Audit Manager with a focus on non-profit audits. After leaving public accounting, she joined AchieveMPLS, a non-profit partner of the Minneapolis Public Schools as Vice President of Finance, before taking on the role of Vice President of Finance with the Minnesota affiliate of Community Health Charities (CHC). In 2011, Gravholt moved to Greater Washington to assume the role of CHC’s national Chief Financial Officer and lead the consolidation of 40+ state affiliates into a single nationwide entity.
Promoted to CHC Chief Operating Officer in 2016, she oversaw that organization’s accounting, human resources, operations, data services, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and new product development. Most recently, Gravholt has led CHC’s acquisition efforts, spearheading the merger of four additional, unrelated federations.
