POLITICS AND MORALITY: HOW SEPARABLE ARE THEY?
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America invite you to begin the New Year with a new public learning opportunity. Dr. Elana Stein Hain, Scholar-in-Residence and Director of Faculty at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, will turn our lecture hall into an interactive community beit midrash (house of learning) – a forum for spirited peer exchange through a Jewish lens.
While it is clear that politics and morality implicate one another, in this session we will delve into why and how this occurs. Exploring what Jewish thought, both ancient and modern, has to offer on this often fraught relationship, we will consider how a deeper understanding of where and why politics and morality are interrelated might impact the way we comport ourselves in this polarized political moment.
Join us to be part of this fascinating conversation.
