The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington are Appalled by Today’s Terrorist Attack in Tel Aviv
Washington, DC – The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) are outraged by the on-going terror which Israeli citizens endure, including the attack earlier today on a bus in Tel Aviv where a Palestinian terrorist stabbed the bus driver and a dozen passengers with a large knife. Of the 13 Israelis who were wounded, four are in serious condition, three are in moderate condition, and the rest are lightly injured. The terrorist was shot and injured by a passing security force from the Israel Prison Service. He was taken to an Israeli hospital for treatment.
Hamas praised the terrorist attack referring to it as “a heroic operation.” Less than two weeks after the atrocious terror attacks in France, we witness, yet again, the unrelenting brutality of terrorism and the danger it poses to the free world. The Jewish Federation and JCRC wish a speedy recovery to the injured victims.
A report from our local DC Birthright group stated they are safely traveling in the Negev, far from this terrible incident.
The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Greater Washington is the public affairs and community relations arm of the Jewish community representing Jewish organizations and synagogues throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The JCRC focuses on government relations, Israel advocacy, inter-group relations, and social justice.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington is a community-building organization that cares for those in need, deepens Jewish engagement and creates connections among Jews locally, in Israel and around the world.
