Voices from Kibbutz Re’im: Congregation Beth El
Thursday, October 30 | 6:30–9:00 PM | Bender A & B At Congregation Beth El.
Join us at Congregation Beth El for a powerful evening of learning, remembrance, and connection.
In Bender A, hear from Zohar Livne Mizrahi, Secretary General of Kibbutz Re’im. Zohar, who was evacuated to Eilat with her family after October 7, will share her community’s story in a 60-minute Q&A panel:
- What life at Re’im was like before October 7
- The aftermath of the attack and its impact on the community
- Re’im’s plans for recovery and rebuilding
- The new partnership between Kibbutz Re’im and the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington
In Bender B, experience a Virtual Reality (VR) program presented by Israel-Is. With 24 VR headsets, participants will step into Kibbutz Re’im and the grounds of the Nova Music Festival, situated adjacent to the kibbutz. During the VR experience, participants will be able to choose which firsthand testimonies to hear, including voices of Nova survivors, an Israeli police officer who operated on the scene, and others who lived through the events of October 7.
This evening presents a unique opportunity to engage with stories of courage and resilience, bearing witness through both conversation and immersive technology.
